Industry Insights & Updates: Key Takeaways from Our Recent Conference

Our team recently attended the VRMA International Conference in Phoenix to explore the latest innovations in vacation rental management. Discover how these insights are shaping our approach and enhancing your experience as a property owner.

At Finger Lakes Premier Properties, we believe in staying ahead of the curve by constantly exploring new ideas and strategies to better serve our property owners and guests. That’s why every year, we send our team to the industry’s top conferences. This month, six members of our team traveled to Phoenix, Arizona, for the VRMA International Conference, where they connected with industry leaders and gathered valuable insights. Here’s a look at what we learned and how we’re using these new ideas to refine our services and bring even more value to your vacation rental.

Enhanced Customer and Owner Communication
With guests and owners engaging across platforms—text, email, social, and more—we explored new methods to boost engagement and satisfaction. One change for 2025: our printed vacation guide will go fully digital, setting the stage for all-new guest guides in 2026.

Anticipatory Design: Proactive Problem-Solving
One of the most exciting sessions focused on “Anticipatory Design.” This approach helps us preemptively address guest needs and potential issues. Safety, for instance, was a key topic, with easy but effective measures like securing rug corners to prevent trips and falls. We’ll review these ideas alongside NYS guidelines to implement them effectively.

Advocacy and Regulatory Insights
This year, we continued our advocacy efforts in the Finger Lakes, connecting with national leaders in short-term rental regulation at VRMA. Our discussions with the VRMA Advocacy Committee will help inform the future direction of FLXVRA and deepen our impact with elected officials.

New Vendor Discoveries
From luxurious linens to high-quality toiletries, we met with vendors supplying the very best in vacation rental supplies. After seeing, feeling, and testing these products firsthand, we’re excited to enhance the experience for both guests and owners.

We’re excited to implement these new insights and strategies to further enhance your vacation rental experience. Stay tuned for more updates as we continue to bring innovative ideas that help maximize your property's potential and exceed guest expectations!
